“To assist your digestive tract, digest uncaria
tomentosa.”
UNCARIA TOMENTOSA
(CAT’S CLAW)
Saving the world’s
rain forests may one day save our lives. For thousands of years the native
Ashanica Indians have used Uncaria Tomentosa Una de Gato (Cat’s Claw) for a
variety of health problems associated with the immune systems.
In 1987, drug
terrorists tried to force a tribe of Ashanica Indians to grow illicit coca for
the drug lords. To avoid being killed they traveled south across the Vicabamba Mountains
to the Urubamba Valley, a rich river basin housing the very source of the
Amazon.
While studying new
flora and fauna, they recognized Uncaria Tomentosa, the same woody vine that
grew in their homeland. This vine yields a thirst-quenching liquid when cut and
was used by their shaman to treat wounds.
The exodus of these
Indians coincided with enormous demand for the bark following European reports
of its clinical use with AZT in treating AIDS. It is effective in decreasing the unpleasant side effects
of both AZT and radiation therapy when used in cancer treatment.
Evidence from ongoing
research suggests Uncaria Tomentosa may be beneficial in the treatment of the
following: cancer, arthritis,
bursitis, rheumatism, genital herpes, and herpes zoster, allergies, ulcers,
systemic candidiasis. It also aids in the treatment of PMS and irregularities
of the female cycle, environmental toxin poisoning, numerous bowel and
intestinal disorders and for those infected with the HIV virus.
Researchers in the
United States refer to it as “The Opener of the Way”. This is because of its
remarkable ability to cleanse the entire intestinal tract and ease stomach and bowel disorders. It
is especially useful for Crohn’s
Disease, Diverticulitis, leaky bowel syndrome, colitis, hemorrhoids, fistulas,
gastritis, ulcers, parasites and intestinal flora imbalance. It
increases the immune response in the body by activating T-lymphocytes and
macrophages. In addition, it contains compounds that provide antiviral,
anti-tumor and anti-inflammatory support in the body.
