“Studies show overweight people need to eat more...”
ENZYMES
A group of basic essential
nutrients for immune response is enzymes. Enzymes make life possible. No
mineral, vitamin or hormone can do its work in your body without enzymes.
Enzymes made of proteins
play a role in virtually all body activities from digesting food to aiding in
the repair of tissue. The body produces a supply of enzymes, however, due to
our lifestyles and diets, we need to obtain additional enzymes from raw,
uncooked foods.
Enzymes in food are
destroyed when cooked or microwaved. When enzyme-deficient foods are consumed, the pancreas tries to
generate its own enzymes. This forces the pancreas to enlarge. This extra
strain may lead to the following: reduced food digestion, toxic colon,
inflammation, allergies, bronchitis, sinusitis, cystitis, rhinitis, and
arthritis.
Low levels of enzymes reduce
overall food digestion. Undigested food can remain, in the intestines and
convert to toxins.
This places an extra burden
on the liver, because the liver must detoxify these molecules. To ease the
burden on the liver, it is helpful to eat raw foods. Eating more fresh foods
with lots of plant enzymes means a large portion of your food will be partially
digested before reacting with digestive juices found in the stomach.
In addition, when the body
receives enzymes from plants, its own internal enzyme supplies are preserved.
The body can then use its own enzymes for tissue repair in addition to
aiding in digestion. This will improve the functioning capacity of the
body and theoretically make you less susceptible to cancer, obesity,
cardiovascular disease and a host of other illnesses.
